Over the last decade the Cedros Crossing project has benefited from significant community participation and input. The community involvement includes a series of over 20 public workshops and presentations between October 2001 and August 2006, where community concerns were addressed. Over the years, as a result of community input, the project has changed dramatically. The third version of the project site plan, called the “Reduced Massing Alternative,” takes into consideration the community’s desire for:
- A pedestrian-friendly design and varied architecture to complement the character of the Cedros Design District
- Permanent open space at the corner of Lomas Santa Fe and Cedros
- Limits on the volume of traffic in the area
- Preservation of view corridors through the project
